In Olde English, a bourne is a small creek or brook; it’s also a goal or destination. As avid outdoor enthusiasts, we felt this name exemplifies who we are. The name bourne pays homage to the small backcountry streams we seek. Bourne also speaks to the desire we feel getting out into nature. The tranquility of the outdoors is our goal and destination.

The idea for our ultra-lite rod tubes came directly from our passion for the outdoors. While planning a backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains, we found that our route would take us many miles over very high elevation. Needless to say, gear weight was at a premium. Being avid fly fishermen, there was no way we were going to leave our rods at home as we would be hiking past many wild trout streams. Sadly, none of the rod tubes we owned or could find on-line were light enough to justify bringing along. So, we created our own. The concept was further refined over many years and trail miles. This product will not only protect your fly rod but won’t weigh you down either.

Because we are outdoors people, we understand the importance of having quality products that you can depend on. Whether your destination is simply a stream in a local state park or miles away from civilization, bourne has you and your gear covered.
